Meet the Teacher

My overall goal for students is to help them strive for excellence in their social, emotional and academic development. Students must be given authentic learning experiences as authors, scientists, mathematicians, etc. Teachers must provide opportunities where activities are open-ended and provide choices in order to meet the needs of every child in the classroom. Many types of learning take place in my classroom and all are valued. This includes working in small groups, independent projects, peer teaching and whole group lessons. Students are encouraged to make connections and go beyond their previous experiences and goals so that they become masters of their learning. Teaching in my eyes, is an interactive process where the students and the teacher indulge in lifelong learning together.
